Bothwell Hypnotherapy & Mental Wellbeing Clinic helps individuals of all ages to overcome various problems and issues which help them take back control of their lives. It would be impossible to list all of the symptoms that can be successfully treated by hypnotherapy so the following are just an example of some of the most common issues that our clients want to address. 

Weight Loss: Virtual / Hypnotic Gastric Band
The Virtual / Hypnotic Gastric Band is a relatively new procedure which could potentially change your life without having surgery and spending thousands of pounds. The Virtual / Hypnotic Gastric Band is “fitted” under hypnosis where you visualise the band being fitted to the top part of your stomach thus making the stomach smaller and experiencing a feeling of fullness with much less food being eaten. As your food intake is less, you will inevitably lose weight. The process uses hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques and Aversion Therapy enabling you to reach your target weight and remain there.

Stress and Anxiety
Everyone suffers from stress or anxiety at some point in their life. It is when this stress or anxiety prevents people from enjoying productive and happy lives that it needs to be addressed. Hypnotherapy is a wonderful tool designed to help clients deal with the long term effects of stress or anxiety on the mind and body. Hypnotherapy allows the client to access the subconscious mind so that they can address the root of the problem and change their beliefs, negative thoughts and outmoded ideas so that they can get the most out of life by becoming more optimistic, calm and confident in their everyday lives.

Hypnosis is an effective way to stop smoking provided that you have made the decision to give up and are motivated to do so. Using a combination of hypnotherapy, suggestion and visualisation imagery and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques a successful outcome will often be achieved.

Fears and Phobias
A fear or phobia is an irrational fear of an object or situation that causes little or no danger. Fears and phobias are linked to our subconscious and because they are irrational they can often be dealt with effectively through hypnotherapy. Some common fears and phobias include closed in spaces, spiders and fear of flying. These fears and phobias usually start early on in life and continue into adulthood. Hypnotherapy can help identify the root cause of the fear or phobia and allow individuals to react to the object or situation in a calmer manner when they encounter them.
